Dog school - group lessons
Group dog school classes are run every fortnight, on the Saturday at Tiger’s Football ground in Manjimup. Dog school group lessons are $20.
During dog school, we learn how to help our dogs be calm around other dogs and people, socialisation (guardians and our pups!), wellbeing, obedience, games, etc. Our dogs aren’t the only ones that get an education, it is the guardians as well! You will have a lot of fun at dog school with other people with the same interest. Dog school runs for approximately 45m - 1 hour. Private lessons – Manjimup Heritage Park
I offer private lessons within Manjimup Heritage Park where we can work on any issues with over stimulation in public.
If there are complex issues with your dog being in a public area, I will suggest an in home, private consult first so I can evaluate your dog and suggest exercises to practice before we tackle the Heritage Park.
Private lessons - general
Sometimes at dog school, it can be a bit over whelming for new or sensitive dogs. And other times there are specific issues that you would like to address at home. I provide private lessons for those who wish to have some one on one time. I have been successful working with various dog behaviour issues and with many different breeds. Examples of issues that I have dealt with previously are below:
Anxiety/fear issues.
Helping your pup/dog integrate with other four legged members of the household (For example cats, guinea pigs, other dogs etc)
Helping your pup/dog with over stimulation around other animals – horses, chickens, cows, etc.
Reactivity;
Over stimulation around triggers (other people, dogs, etc)
Private lesson - travel costs
All private lessons are $85 for an hour and if you want some extra time, $110 for 1 1/4 hours or $130 for 1 1/2 hours. You will receive a training plan for each lesson which covers what we discussed during our lesson and step by step instructions for any exercises we do. Travel costs are applicable for clients who are more than 5 kilometres from Manjimup.

You can pay by cash or I have card facilities.
Private lessons - Puppy
So, you get a new addition to your family. Now what? Puppies are very, very cute, but can be a handful and sometimes stressful.
They can go through stages of biting members of your family, jumping up, crying at night, toileting inside, chewing up your nice things, digging, etc to name a few. This is where I can help! I visit you at home and talk you through the different stages of puppyhood and also discuss strategies that will help during each stage. Setting your puppy up for success at this early stage is important and will help you immensely as they get older.
Some of the topics that I can incorporate into my lessons are:
Exercises to open lines of communication between you and your dog;
Enrichment exercises;
Troubleshooting puppy behaviour and how to survive the early months. For example, assistance with biting, toileting, digging, chewing, barking, jumping up, etc;
Health information and safety training – leave it, drop it, diet, etc
Basic obedience – sit, stand, down, recall, etc
Crate training;
Lead skills;
Sending your dog to a bed, station, etc.
Long lead work and more advanced recall
In house training - training while you are at work!
I have extended my business to include in house training where I come to your house when you are at work or out of town to keep your dog company and to make sure they are ok. I offer enrichment exercises, training, play, walking (depending on weather of course) - anything you would like me to do.
This service is for busy people who have to leave their dog alone for a period of time during the day. Maybe you don’t have time for training! This can help you. It can also help with dogs that struggle with separation anxiety, are destructive or distressed when left alone.
I need to have met your dog beforehand or had a private lesson with me, so that they know who I am.
The cost at the moment is $50 for an hour plus travel costs if you are more than 5km from Manjimup.
